The fee includes accommodation at SKOLKOVO and HKUST, breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and course materials. Flight costs and accommodation outside of SKOLKOVO and HKUST are excluded.

The HKUST-SKOLKOVO Executive Master of Business Administration Program for Eurasia (HS EMBA) is jointly offered by the School of Business and Management of HKUST and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO in Russia. The program focuses on business in Eurasia within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, with an emphasis on leadership and innovation. It is intended to develop leaders of corporations, business and public/non-profit sectors for Eurasia.

 

Students will be equipped with the ability to lead and innovate in Eurasia and to play a key part in accelerating the economic development of the region. The program is also highly valuable to executives and business owners outside of Eurasia who wish to develop their knowledge and network in the region.

 

Upon graduation, students will be awarded an Executive Master of Business Administration degree each by HKUST and SKOLKOVO, and become alumni of both institutions.

On successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Lead responsibly with enhanced leadership and teamwork skills;
  2. Apply frameworks to analyze complex problems;
  3. Innovate using best practices to meet new and existing organizations’ objectives;
  4. Develop international business opportunities across the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) areas with an emphasis on Russia and China;
  5. Contribute to the development of Eurasia based on deep knowledge of cultures, philosophies, sociologies and historical events; and
  6. Utilize emerging technologies to transform organizations for growth.

The HS EMBA program is a 16-month part-time program comprising monthly modules conducted mainly at SKOLKOVO in Moscow, with two to three live-in sessions at HKUST in Hong Kong, and other international modules in the Belt and Road countries: Israel, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, India, among others. It may vary every cohort depending on the relevance.

 

Each module consists of four to eight consecutive days of teaching, including company visits and other related activities. All courses are taught in English.

  1. Credit Transfer

A maximum of 15 credits may be transferred from SKOLKOVO or other institutions to HKUST to meet the graduation requirements.

The advanced courses will be selected by the Academic Directors, and may vary every intake depending on the availability of the courses and/or their relevance. The courses to be offered for each intake will be announced on the program website every year.

 

  1. Remarks
  • Upon mutual agreement between the two Schools and availability of faculty, core and advanced courses offered by HKUST may be replaced by similar courses offered by SKOLKOVO. At least 50% of the total credits will be offered by HKUST in each intake.
  • Students have to meet the graduation requirements of both HKUST and SKOLKOVO in order to be awarded the two EMBA degrees.

To qualify for admission, applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Admission is selective and meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

1. General Admission Requirements of the University
  • Applicants seeking admission to a master's degree program should have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, or an approved equivalent qualification.

2. English Language Admission Requirements

Applicants have to fulfill English Language requirements with one of the following proficiency attainments:

  • TOEFL-iBT: 80

  • TOEFL-pBT: 550

  • TOEFL-Revised paper-delivered test: 60 (total scores for Reading, Listening and Writing sections)

  • IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score: 6.5 and All sub-score: 5.5


Applicants are not required to present TOEFL or IELTS score if

  • their first language is English, or

  • they obtained the bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an institution where the medium of instruction was English.

3. Program-Specific Admission Requirements
  • Eight years of work experience; at least six years of relevant management experience.

4. Additional Information
  • Applicants should have:

    • Strong leadership track record;

    • Solid career progression at corporations or development in business; and

    • Motivation to learn, lead and innovate.

  • An admissions interview is required for all shortlisted candidates.

  • If required by the admissions committee, an admissions test administered internally or externally will be used to assess candidates’ academic capabilities.

  • A psychometric measurement of leadership potential at individual and team levels will be required of all candidates.

  • Applicants with 10 years of work experience are preferred unless exceptional track records are shown.
